Last March, the celebration of the third edition of the HP Prizes of Innovation took place in Lisbon. In this event, 9 companies were rewarded for the most innovative projects. These prizes commemorated different sectors: pharmaceutical, social, sport, and the sector of the structures printing.
In the pharmaceutical sector, Bial Laboratories were rewarded with the Innovation Prize in the Workplace of the Future. This company used the HP Elite x2 detachable laptop, which allows reaching the mobility offered by a tablet and the performance of a laptop at the same time, to improve its sales force.
In the sector of the structures printing, the rewarded company with Innovation Prize in High Performance was Simoldes. Thanks to the HP workstations, not only portable but also desktop, this company could cope with the needs of the CAD/CAM applications.
To the Broadway Malyan company was also assigned the Innovation Prize in High Performance. The company uses the HP workstations on all its design and architecture projects, which are developed for customers from all over the world.
In the retail sector, Netprint was another company rewarded with the Innovation Prize in High Performance, thanks to the use of large format HP printers on its store, located in the Faculty of Architecture in Lisbon. The HP Pagewide XL 5000 systems could give a response to all the demand for their services.
Turning to the sport sector, the Innovation Prize in Internal Processes was given to the Sporting Clube of Portugal team, rewarding the use of HP systems with touchscreen technology during the last elections.
The same prize was also given to Grupo Pestana, a company in the tourism sector, for its outsourcing models and MPS service with 280 HP systems and 1600 users. As João Machado, chairman of the Grupo Pestana, said, there were many the objectives that had to be met and the HP systems were essential for the company to respond to the needs of the users.
In the social sector, SIOSLife was rewarded with the Innovation Prize in Social Inclusion for its project on social inclusion of the ageing population, which was developed with HP systems.
The last company, that was honoured with the Innovation Prize in New Technological Models, was the IT Sector, for the adoption of a Device as a Service model, which enabled them to focus on the core of the company.
