What sort of paper should you choose to get better printings? There are many types of papers, so it is important to choose the right one if you want to improve the quality of your printed documents.

You should know that common paper is made of wood pulp, cotton and other fibres. These materials may be present in different percentages, resulting in different types of paper. Normally, the greater the percentage of wood pulp, the higher the quality. The so-called ‘bond paper’ is manufactured with a great level of wood pulp, so it is one the best papers you can use on your printer. On the other hand, papers containing a great amount of fibres are in general of poorer quality, and the greater the amount of fibres contained, the thicker the paper will be.

It is also important to pay attention to the brightness and texture of the paper. In this regard, we can basically distinguish between two types of paper: matte and glossy. Matte paper can be used both on laser and inkjet printers, and it is the most commonly used in offices. Glossy paper is the best option if you need to print photos in high-quality, but it can only be used on inkjet printers.

And what about recycled paper? It is fully made from reused materials and bleached using non-polluting substances, although its colour is normally slightly different to that of non-recycled paper. Its structure and brightness is perfectly apt for office use, with the great advantage that it helps preserve the environment. For this purpose we also recommend double-sided printing and printing only when truly necessary.
